Liz Barnes
Hello
20 years of facilitation and coaching experience, with a primary focus on leadership and business development including transition, change, resilience, leading and developing teams, developing personal effectiveness and personal leadership style.

Experience in operating and transitioning from roles as a scientist in R&D and EHS, production and product development, project management, market and consumer insight research and to HR L&D and working as a coach.
My Story
My career began with a degree in physiology and a PhD in neurobiology. I then joined the corporate world working for Unilever for 17 years; then having transitioned into Learning and Development with a role at Cranfield University. I then focused on leadership development for 12 years in Johnson Matthey. On joining the corporate world, I soon learned that leading people was the most challenging and rewarding of roles. Most recently working to support career development at LifeArc a self funded charity pioneering and partnering early drug and disease projects and ventures.

Throughout this I have witnessed and been part of change over many years. Learning and change happens in a systemic context and all to often we become unaware of the patterns or habits in how we operate, and how they help or hinder us. They impact our ability to perform at our best and our health and wellbeing

As a coach, I provide an opportunity for leaders to step out of their day to day, to reflect safely, deeply, honestly and holistically about what they are trying to achieve and focus on how to learn or adjust at any stage of their career or personal development.
Working with teams I provide facilitation and coaching for building cohesion and collaboration using tools and techniques to develop team insights, clarity of team goals and ways of working.
